The World Food Programme said on September 1 that funding shortages are forcing it to cut food assistance in the occupied West Bank by half, even as settler violence and Israeli occupation drive needs higher. It estimates 900,000 people there are food insecure. The agency said shortfalls are also affecting Gaza, where it supports 1.5 million people, and warned that further cuts will be unavoidable without extra funding.
