A fire at two schools in Bukavu, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, has killed at least 20 students and injured several others, who were admitted to health facilities with burns and are in critical condition, according to local authorities.
The fire reportedly started in a nearby building before spreading to the schools. Local media reported that the blaze also destroyed nearly 500 homes and a clinic.
The death toll remains provisional, and the cause of the fire has yet to be established.
