The boss of Anthropic, Dario Amodei has warned the race to develop the tech needs to slow down and be closely monitored, or else risk disaster.
Speaking to Sky News astrophysicist Martin Rees said AI could "any day now create a catastrophe" and must be considered an immediate threat.
