Sky’s Africa correspondent, Yousra Elbagir, is the first journalist to go onboard a Sudanese Naval warship on the Red Sea.
During the embed the Navy reenacted one of its key operations: intercepting vessels smuggling weapons, drugs and sometimes even people.
The Red Sea’s location between Africa and the Middle East is of vital importance in the wars in Sudan, Iran and Gaza.
The war in Sudan has entered its fourth year with no signs of abating.
The Sudanese Armed Forces, supported by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran and Qatar are locked in a brutal and costly conflict with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, backed by the United Arab Emirates – claims the UAE denies.
