Palestinian artists in Gaza have painted a mural honoring US rapper Macklemore for his outspoken support for Palestinians, amid the destruction left by Israel’s genocidal war.
Working on the wall of a heavily damaged building at risk of collapse, the artists said they struggled to buy paint and other materials for the artwork, adding that they hoped the mural would offer a moment of color and expression amid the devastation surrounding them.
The mural depicts Macklemore wrapped in a Palestinian flag, alongside the words: “Thank you for using your voice for Palestine.”
