The Bank of England held the interest rate at 3.75% for the sixth time in a row but hinted hikes will come if inflation goes higher.
The Bank has also warned households that the price cap for energy bills is expected to rise by a further 24% in the first quarter of next year, pushing up the average bill by more than £400.
