Can Serbia’s student movement turn the support on the streets into votes?

Serbia will hold snap parliamentary elections on the 25th of October, posing a new challenge to Aleksandar Vucic’s long rule. After almost two years of mass protests, the student-led movement is now contesting the elections. Its slate includes university professors, doctors, activists and other public figures. Some opposition parties have stepped aside to support the Student List, while others remain in the race. At the same time, Vucic says he will step down and seek a return to office as prime minister. Can the students turn street support into votes for political change?
