Mass demonstrations are sweeping across France this week as students, firefighters and public workers walk out over rising prices and poor working conditions. Seven months before France holds a presidential election and two days before next year’s budget is released, polls suggest President Emmanuel Macron’s centre-right government is hugely unpopular. The government has defended its fiscal plan but acknowledges that people’s concerns must be heard. TRT World’s Victoria Innes reports.
