A large plume of smoke and fire was seen near an Aramco site in Riyadh. Yemen’s Houthi group claimed it had launched ballistic missiles and drones at the site in what it described as retaliation for intensified Saudi air and missile strikes on Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen described the Houthi group’s claims that it had targeted the Saudi capital Riyadh as "misleading," saying they were intended to divert attention from the scale of the group’s losses.
Saudi authorities and Aramco have yet to confirm the attack.
The incident comes amid escalating hostilities involving Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis.
Last week, the Houthis also claimed attacks on Aramco facilities in Yanbu. Saudi Arabia said it intercepted six ballistic missiles fired towards Taif and the Yanbu area.
