Anti-war protesters repeatedly disrupted US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and senior military officials during a panel discussion at the US Army’s annual conference in Washington, DC on Wednesday, denouncing the war in Iran and Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
At least six demonstrators were removed from the venue after protesting US President Donald Trump’s proposed $1.5 trillion military budget for next year.
The panel also featured Acting Army Secretary Adam Telle, Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao, Air Force Secretary Troy Meink and Assistant Secretary for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict Derrick Evans.
The discussion centred on Project Agincourt, a Pentagon initiative to accelerate the development and deployment of autonomous weapons and military systems.
Organised by the Association of the United States Army, the conference brings together senior military officials and defence industry representatives.
