This latest controversial election paints Zimbabwe in a negative light, as there continues to be a bad outlook for young people, who continue to struggle with high unemployment rates, says FRANCE 24’s Robert Parsons. Despite being the reason behind the country’s failing economy and high rates of unemployment, Emmerson Mnangagwa, who came to power in 2017 after ousting former president Robert Mugabe, nevertheless was re-elected. Given that he basically did nothing while in power to improve the economy, the situation in the country remains bleak and seems unlikely to change in the near future, says Parsons.
