Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday told an annual press conference that the Kremlin’s goals for the war in Ukraine have not changed, underlining the military’s progress along the front lines. “There will be peace when we achieve our goals. Let’s return to these goals: they have not changed. I’ll remind you of what we talked about then: the denazification of Ukraine, its demilitarisation, its neutral status,” Putin said. “His [Putin] position hasn’t changed at all … if anything he has a lot of strut in his step this year because it comes at a moment where Western support for Ukraine appears to be dwindling,” FRANCE 24’s Douglas Herbert said in an analysis.
