FRANCE 24 talks to French athlete Anouk Garnier, who this week achieved the feat of scaling up to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, on a free hanging rope.
The 34 year old French woman scaled 110 metres, around 361 feet, in just 18 minutes.
She has now beaten both the world record, previously held by South African athlete Thomas Van Tonder, who climbed 90 metres between the Soweto Towers in Joburg 4 years ago, and the women’s record of 85 metres held by Ida Matilde, who climbed the Copenhagen Opera House two years ago.
