“War crimes in response to war crimes are unacceptable”, analyst says after ICC announcement

The announcement that the ICC prosecutor is seeking an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant as well as Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniyeh, is a signal to Israel that the international community will not accept the perpetration of war crimes in response to war crimes, says Yossi Mekelberg, Associate Fellow, Middle East and North Africa Programme at Chatham House.
