Three people have been killed and eight have been injured in a knife attack in the western Germany city of Solingen, police say.
The attacked fled the scene and police are still searching for an "unknown" suspect and police say the motive for is unclear.
Celebrations were under way to mark the 650th anniversary of the city’s foundation when the attack happened.
The search is ongoing and police are urging locals to be cautious.
