Thousands of protesters gathered in Lafayette Square, near the White House on Saturday afternoon and marched through the main avenues of the US capital, Washington DC demanding an end to bloodshed in Gaza and the wider Middle East as the start of Israel’s war in the Palestinian enclave approaches its first anniversary.
