Pakistan is hosting top officials from India, China, Russia and Iran for a regional security summit. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was set up two decades ago, and is viewed by some of its members as a counterbalance to alliances like NATO. This time around, it’s a chance for Pakistan to show it can pull off a major summit despite its own security concerns – and attempt to reconnect with key partners, and arch-rivals.
