Cabinet office minister Pat McFadden emphasises that the UK-US alliance is "much deeper" than past Labour criticisms of president-elect Donald Trump.
Reflecting on David Lammy calling Mr Trump a "neo-Nazi" in the past, Mr McFadden says the countries’ shared values are "more important than some tweet from however many years ago".
Talking to Sky’s Wilfred Frost about if Mr Trump may retaliate against Labour over such comments, Mr McFadden replied that Mr Trump "says a lot of fiery things", and if he chose to cut off people who said negative things about him "you wouldn’t have the vice president-elect".
