Images have emerged of French jihadists in Syria celebrating the fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, including those affiliated with Al Qaeda. According to France’s anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office, more than 200 French jihadists are in Syria. Around 130, mostly from the Islamic State group, are being held in Kurdish prisons in the east of the country, but just under a hundred are now scattered across the country and their presence has raised fears of a possible increase in terror attacks back home.
