In Aleppo, efforts are underway to rebuild after years of destruction left much of Syria’s economic capital in ruins. The city and the surrounding province were the scene of brutal fighting between the regime and rebel forces for years. Now, more than a week after the fall of Bashar al-Assad, euphoria is slowly giving way to reality as Syrians come to terms with the challenges of reconstruction.
