US President-elect Donald Trump has refused to rule out military force to gain control of the Panama Canal, and Greenland. Since winning the election, Trump has repeatedly expressed his desire to take over the strategically important waterway and island.
During his first term in office, Trump expressed an interest in buying Greenland — which is an autonomous territory of Denmark — a long-time US ally. But the governments of Greenland and Denmark have repeatedly rebuffed his offers.
