Israel has withdrawn from Rafah, allowing a group of 50 sick and injured Palestinian children to cross into Egypt for medical treatment for the first time in nine months.
Many of the patients, including those with chronic illnesses such as cancer, have been unable to receive treatment during Israel’s 15-month war.
As part of a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel on January 19, a total of 400 Palestinians will be permitted to leave Gaza.
