Japanese company reveals 18 meter tall ‘Gundam’ robot

It was due to feature at the Gundam Factory Yokohama, a new attraction that will allow fans to get up close and personal with the creation and learn about how it was created. The attraction was due to open in October 2020 but, because of the coronavirus pandemic, visitors will now have to wait slightly longer. Robots are big in Japan -and this one is larger than life. Gundam stands at just over 18 metres tall and weighs 25 tonnes. Gundam was born in 1979 as a children’s toy. It spawned a whole science fiction universe: a hugely popular anime series, movies, mangas and video games that have grossed more than 20 billion dollars.
