A residential building in Karachi, which had been previously condemned, collapsed, killing at least six people in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods. The latest death toll stands at eight victims, with several wounded and more believed to be trapped in the rubble. Pakistani’s president, Asif Ali Zardari, ordered an urgent probe into the causes of the incident and called for effective measures to be taken to prevent similar events in the future, according to a statement by his Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
