The United Nations General Assembly kicks off a two-day virtual meeting on the coronavirus pandemic today. It comes as the virus continues to spread across the globe. More than 60 Million cases have been recorded so far – with more than 1.5 Million deaths from Covid-19. North and South America as well as Europe have seen a massive resurgence in recent weeks. In Asia, India has fared far worse than its neighbors. The UN conference is meant to address the negative effects of the pandemic on jobs, economics and global trade and travel.
