Mexico and the United States have pledged to strengthen their security cooperation. At a meeting on Wednesday, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio agreed to continue working together to stop the flow of fentanyl and other drugs into the US and the smuggling of weapons into Mexico.
The announcement comes a day after the US military carried out a missile strike on a boat that Washington said belonged to a Venezuelan drug cartel. Eleven people were killed in the attack, all of them allegedly members of the Tren de Aragua gang, which the US designated a terrorist organization in February.
