Could the UN have moved its UNGA session after Palestinians were denied entry to the US?

History seems to be repeating itself after the UN’s Palestinian delegation was blocked by the US at the doorstep of the world’s foremost multilateral forum, the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

Once again, Palestinians are being cut off from the global meeting — just as they were in 1988, when Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat was denied a US visa.

However, back then, the UN session was ultimately moved from New York to Geneva, Switzerland, to allow Arafat to participate.

With the UNGA starting today, is the UN betraying the 1947 Headquarters Agreement by allowing the US to block delegates?
