Israel is moving forward with a plan to build a new illegal settlement in the occupied West Bank. It’s expected to include 9,000 housing units for more than 50,000 Israeli settlers on the site of the former Qalandia airport. Palestinians say the illegal settlement would sever their neighbourhoods, deepen Israeli control and further hamper any possibility of an independent Palestinian state. Mohammad Al-Kassim reports.
