India has joined a handful of countries including China, Pakistan and Russia in establishing diplomatic ties with Aghanistan’s Taliban rulers. India has long been a second home for thousands of Afghans, many of whom are women students whose visas are running out. They fear that returning to their homeland would mean facing persecution.
