A rare tropical storm has caused severe flooding across Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia, destroying homes and leaving tens of thousands displaced. Rescue efforts are hampered by blocked roads, with helicopters providing the only access to some areas. Similar extreme weather in Sri Lanka has led authorities to declare a state of emergency as rising waters and mud bury neighborhoods and destroy crops. Victoria Innes has the story.
