Maduro is being ‘held hostage’: Venezuela’s interim president

“I come with pain because of the kidnapping of two heroes who are being held hostage in the United States of America”

Venezuela’s vice president and oil minister Delcy Rodriguez was formally sworn in on Monday as the country’s interim president after the US abducted President Nicolas Maduro in a military operation.

Earlier in the day Rodriguez invited the US government to collaborate on an agenda of cooperation, in a statement on social media that struck a conciliatory tone following her initial statement on Saturday that she stood firmly behind Maduro.
