For the second time this month, a U.S. citizen was shot and killed by a federal agent in Minneapolis when 37-year-old Alex Pretti was killed during a federal immigration operation — sparking a candlelight vigil and renewed shock in the city still reeling from the death of Renee Good less than three weeks earlier — and in both cases state and federal officials have offered conflicting accounts of what happened, with Minnesota’s governor vehemently rejecting the federal narrative.
