European powers have sought to join forces after US President Donald Trump roiled the transatlantic alliance by threatening to seize strategically-located and mineral-rich Greenland. France’s Emmanuel Macron, one of the staunchest defenders of a united European front, hosted the Greenlandic and Danish PMs in Paris to show that despite the threat of a US takeover seeming to have abaited, the red line still exists.
