Iran’s top security official says there’s been progress towards re-opening negotiations with the United States. As the US military build-up in the region gathers momentum, President Trump’s intentions towards Iran are far from clear. Trump says he wants to prevent the regime from developing nuclear weapons, and an end to the crackdown on anti-government protests. But he also appears to be softening his tone on military action.
