At least 254 people have been killed in a wave of Israeli strikes on Lebanon, according to the country’s civil defence service.
It comes after Israel said it had launched the largest coordinated strike on Lebanon of its war with the Iran-backed group Hezbollah, after saying the two-week ceasefire did not apply there.
The White House said it did not view the ceasefire as applying to Lebanon – but Iran and Pakistan said it did.
Residents said some strikes came without the usual warnings.
