Hungary’s long-time leader Viktor Orban has conceded defeat after a landslide victory by Peter Magyar’s Tisza party in Sunday’s election. With around 97% of votes counted, projections give the centre-right Tisza a two-thirds majority, ending Orban’s 16-years in power. Orban told supporters the result was painful, but clear, as he acknowledged the shift in voter sentiment. Magyar’s victory is expected to transform the political dynamics of the country.
