Covid frontline: harrowing scenes from London intensive care unit as deaths soar – BBC News

The number of patients being treated for Covid in hospitals across the UK has risen above 30,000. More than 1,000 deaths were reported in the latest 24-hour period, the highest since the peak of the first wave of the pandemic in April 2020. The London area is at the centre of the crisis. A BBC team has been allowed to film inside the intensive care unit at the capital’s University College Hospital.
