What would happen if Australia won Eurovision? | BBC News

Newsbeat’s Pete Allison explains what would happen if Australia won the Eurovision Song Contest, as the country returns in 2026 with one of its biggest stars, Delta Goodrem.

Despite competing in Eurovision for more than a decade, Australia can’t host the contest if it wins. Instead, organisers say a European country would be chosen to stage the following year’s event on Australia’s behalf – most likely one of the contest’s biggest financial contributors, such as France or Germany.
