Colombia’s President-elect pledges foreign policy reset

Colombia’s President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella says he will strengthen ties with Israel by halting plans for a Palestinian embassy and restore closer cooperation with the United States after years of strained relations. He has also pledged a tougher security strategy by resuming aerial coca fumigation and intensifying the fight against illegal armed groups, despite criticism from opponents and analysts.
