A fast-moving wildfire in British Columbia’s Okanagan region forced around 20,000 people to evacuate on August 8.
The Bald Range fire, which began the previous day, had burned more than 13,600 hectares by August 9 and remained out of control.
Power was lost across parts of the affected area as the province declared a state of emergency.
