Join Cathy Newman live from Liverpool where Labour are hosting their annual party conference – with Andy Burnham delivering his first conference speech as prime minister.
Burnham built his speech around the conference slogan ("Hope again" – the words with which he ended his keynote speech) and the message of positive-thinking momentum he has been hammering.
As expected, Burnham vowed from 2030 to "adjust" the pensions triple lock – the state pension increasing year by whichever is highest out of inflation, wage increases or 2.5%.
Turning his attention to Europe, Burnham promised to "lay out to the country" different "options" on EU relations to see "if we can find consensus" around one.
