Hong Kong activist Nathan Law: Europe ‘shouldn’t prioritize trade over human rights’ | DW Interview

DW spoke with exiled Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Nathan Law after China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas just outside Berlin that a recently introduced Security Law was needed to bring peace to the streets of Hong Kong. Wang said Hong Kong had been in chaos at the high point of street protests and the law, which critics have described as being draconian, was required to calm the protests.
