Amnesty International halts work in India citing government reprisals

September 29, 2020

Amnesty International says it will stop operations in India after the country froze its bank accounts for allegedly breaking rules on foreign funding. The NGO, however, says the move is retaliation for recent reports critical of the government. FRANCE 24 correspondent Sreya Banerjee explains.
