How Roma communities are struggling during the coronavirus pandemic | COVID-19 Special

Covid-19 does not discriminate between the rich and poor. But the wider effects of a the pandemic have hit some much harder than others. Marginalized communities are bearing the biggest burden. The pandemic has widened the gulf between the haves and have nots. And few groups have borne witness to that like the Roma. The continent’s biggest ethnic minority is also perhaps its most maginalised. And the coronavirus pandemic has only further exposed how vulnerable they are. DW correspondent Fanny Facsar visited a settlement on the outskirts of Belgrade.
