Russian troops ‘stopped a civil war’, Putin tells military – BBC News

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated military personnel on preventing a “civil war” following the aborted Wagner rebellion. “You’ve essentially stopped a civil war, you acted properly and in a coordinated manner,” he said in a speech at the Kremlin. He also called for a minute’s silence to honour the pilots who fell in the aborted mutiny.
