Russia’s defence ministry has said preparations are under way for the Wagner mercenary group to hand over its military hardware. It comes after President Vladimir Putin’s confirmed several Russian pilots died during the weekend’s mutiny. Wagner members, who Putin said were mostly true patriots that had been misled into a criminal adventure, could choose to join the regular military, return to their families, or go to Belarus.
