Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has reaffirmed the UK government’s support for Israel against “the terrorist attack” by Hamas “against unarmed civilians”. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak earlier chaired a COBRA emergency response meeting on the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip. The Foreign Office has set up special consulate numbers available for British nationals who are seeking to leave.
