When you hear the word “chocolate”, Nestle is probably the first brand that comes to mind. This multinational Swiss company, which owns more than 2,000 different brands, is one of the largest food and beverage producers in the world. However, while you may be happy when you’re eating a Nestle chocolate bar, you probably won’t enjoy it as much when you hear about the scandals, scams and cover-ups behind the company.
- When a child slave on a cocoa plantation in Ghana says something so damaging to Nestle’s profits that you just gotta hit them with that liberal world order stare
- The fact that this is how Nestle addresses their history of slave labour, land and resource robbery, and global exploitation “100 years of chocolatey memories” and an appeal to nostalgia and “family traditions” for the christian suburbanite + a lie about “sustainability”
- Nestle uses slave labor, steals water from people who need it, and destroys ecosystems for its shitty food. Do NOT support Nestle, and research to find which brands are owned by them. Hint: there’s a LOT of brands.
- M&M’s rebranding for “more inclusivity” is fake woke corporate marketing. Mars, Nestle, & Hershey’s have been using child labor to farm its cocoa for decades in Africa. They were recently sued for using human trafficked slave labor at one of their farms last year.
- “The economic system we have is a continuation of old colonialism. For example: Cocoa farmers in Africa get paid next to nothing. And there are even forced child labor. However, Western corps (Nestle) use simple tech to change cocoa beans to chocolate. Voila, 10.000% profits!” Slave Free Spirit
