US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs chairman Gen. CQ Brown Jr. have arrived in Israel to discuss Israel’s ongoing military operations against Hamas amid a growing political rift between Tel Aviv and Washington over the war. Austin and Brown are expected to meet with Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and the War Cabinet during their visit. Delivering a stronger message to Israel, Austin is expected to urge Israel to take a more cautious approach and ensure civilian safety as it pursues the war in Gaza, FRANCE 24’s Rob Parsons said.
