In the past few months the Amazon rainforest has experienced the worst drought on record. One of its main rivers reached its lowest level since records began – 121 years ago. Villages became unreachable, wildfires raged in the middle of dense forest and wildlife died. Many scientists are worried that events like these are helping to push the world’s biggest forest to a point of no return.
